How would you feel if someone Googled your business, and your competitor’s business address and picture showed up on it? Well, this is actually the case here in Crivitz, Wisconsin. If you Google Kempka Excavation you get an address of 710 Main Ave. with a picture of Dama’s building and sign on it. When I hit the directions tab Google directs me to take Hall Ave to Wilbert Street, and then Main Ave. Google tells me it will take 9 minutes for me to walk there. It would take me much, much longer to actually walk to Kempka Excavating.(A place where I’d actually want to go!) Maybe and hour or two! This issue is forcing the owners of Kempka Excavating to spend many hundreds of dollars to fix. Additionally Drama put up an enormous billboard right next to the Kempka’s Maiden Lake Plumbing business. It is so big, it makes you wonder who is compensating for what! Talk about bullies! That takes some kind of nerve to do that to people, and then smile in their face.

Readers, when you want to hear what is actually going on in our little fishbowl, please continue to look for that information here. I encourage you to think twice about doing business with someone who utilizes the above tactics. Your hard earned money is too hard to come by. Stay tuned.

Is this really where Kempka Excavating is?? It looks like Drama Plumbing to me! Something smells!
A practice like this speaks of desperation by the competition. I wonder how many others they are doing this to? Do I see yet another lawsuit on the Dama Plumbing horizon? I know that messing with folks businesses names and such can result in big dollar settlements. Big dollars.
Sniff, sniff . . . . . . it does smell like a plumber working on septic systems and sewers is in the house.

As someone who is completely unaffiliated with the Crivitz School District, the Dama’s, and the girls involved in the locker room incident, I would like to give my unbiased opinion on what is going on. Keep in mind that I do not know 100% what went on or what was said in the locker room as only the 4 girls involved. (Plus any other girls that may have been in there) Obviously we have some conflicting reports on what actually happened, otherwise there would not be have been a recall election or the lawsuit that is entering the appeal process.
First off, Crivitz seems a bit inconsistent at times with how they have handled incidents. I am unware of every incident that has happened, but from reading newspapers and blogs, it appears that there has been some inconstancies with how departments have handled drug related penalties and federal offenses within the past couple of years. This brings us to the incident in the locker room. By the letter of the rules, no cell phones are to be used in the locker rooms. This means the three girls were in violation. A couple of things to ask would be: How well was this rule enforced before? Has someone been reported using cell phones in the locker room before and what was the end result? What was exactly said? I am unaware of the answers to all of these questions.
A big dispute was indeed the later of the questions and where the bulk of the conflict revolves around. Accusations such as the one girl cannot be taken lightly and should indeed be investigated. I am not going to go into detail with the cops and interviews as Dave already said what happened. It probably would have been best, since the school board President had family involved, if he would have recused (I know it applies for judges, does it apply to board members too) himself from the handling of the situation. I understand why he didn’t. I am sure many fathers would have done the same thing as the school board President did if their daughter was the one who reported an incident like she did, however, he should have probably been advised to step down, knowing the situation could get ugly. Again, I am unaware of what was presented to the board and how they decided how they were to discipline the three girls. Would the President recusing himself from this discussion have made a difference?
I believe that people who make up school districts are there because the genuinely care about the school they represent. I don’t think Crivitz would be any different. (Coleman which was talked about previously one here. According to the paper, it has been known for quite a while that with the enrollment decreasing and education cuts by the state, that Coleman was going to have to make cuts.) Obviously, decisions get made that people disagree with, and controversies do arise. I believe inconsistency with discipline mixed together with the President’s daughter bringing a serious allegation to the table allowed for things to get really ugly. This is my unbiased view of happened. It appears inconsistency and poor communication allowed for this to get ugly. Dave and Pete, I think it would be interesting as an opposing viewpoint of how you would have handled the investigation if this case was presented to you, as Superintendent of the school.

Jim, I hope that my new blog satisfied you question as to what Pete and I would do. When you mention that it seems the school has been a bit inconsistent with regard to equal treatment and punishment, I could not disagree more. It is blatant and inexcusable. Thank you for being a reader. Please feel free to comment again if you like.
