I have a friend who writes to the local newspapers, and voices his opinions on what he sees as right and wrong. This is his right as put forth by the 1st Amendment. He questions things, not just assuming that the status quo is necessarily correct. This is something that many do not do. It takes time and lots of thought to actually find out what is going on in local governments, and that is something that most folks won’t do. Far too long the Crivitz School System, Marinette County Board, and other local entities have gone unchecked. They certainly prefer it that way. Someone like myself or my friend are looked down upon for even questioning their supreme authority. How dare we!

With all that being said, when we question, typically we offer suggestions on how to fix the issues. One of my favorite fixes is to be more transparent in your dealings with the public. This is particularly the case with the school. They, however, prefer to lurk around in the shadows, and keep everyone in the dark. This has been a fairly successful tactic to this point. In the long run, I believe that locals will tire of this, and the problem will eventually get fixed. In the meantime, as I write this blog, or my friend writes in the the “opinions” pages, we are greeted with lovely people who write in as “anonymous”. Well, to you “anonymous” folks I say: Get A Backbone! If you’re afraid to sign your name to your criticism, then your opinion means nothing. Also, recently someone went as far as creating a fake email address to tell me to get over things, as I lost my lawsuit. “Susan”, if that’s your real name, please get your facts straight. My name was not on that lawsuit. I did not lose. The people who lost were young girls who were targeted by a family of bullies, and their “buddy” the Crooked Crivitz Administrator. The truth lost, which is a an absolute shame. While your “anonymous” opinion means nothing to anyone, keep in mind I will always sign my name to my opinions. Stay tuned! Sincerely, Dave.
