Sex Offender

Not a quote from Judge Judge of Oconto County!!!!

According to a newspaper article on April 28th, after more than a month of protest and petitioning from concerned neighbors, an Oconto County Circuit Court judge denied the placement of a sex offender in the Town of Pound on Thursday. In 2016, Wisconsin Act 156 took effect in the state, which gave the Department of Health Services (DHS) authority to seek homes for sex offenders in residences under 980.08 Wisconsin Statute. The law gave the state and courts control of the placement of sex offenders within municipalities where the offenders’ crimes were committed, while working within certain conditions, such as a 1,500-foot barrier to schools, child care facilities, public parks, places of worship, youth centers, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and a primary residence for children adjacent to the proposed placement home. The state conducts a review of the area in question to see if it meets criteria, and assessments from the local Sheriff’s Department and the Department of Corrections are completed as well.

“Statutorily, I am supposed to approve the plan,” Judge Judge stated. Another example of where this judge thinks he’s above the law. This is the same guy who cited no laws in the girls’ case. Who votes for these people? If we’re going to not use law when making serious decisions, do we then just rip up the Constitution and throw it out? While I personally wouldn’t care for a sex offender to be released near me, they are certainly going somewhere. Our kids are at risk from these creepy scumbags on a daily basis. This Judge wanted the offender placed in Marinette County. How is that better? He just wanted to appease his county constituents, ignore the law, and make it a problem for someone else. Man does that sound familiar! Way to go! Stay tuned!

Down, But Not Out

The votes have been cast, and the voters spoke. I will not be on the school board. I want to thank those who voted for me from the bottom of my heart. Make no mistake, we will still have a change at some point, and I won’t stop pursuing the task of making OUR school a better place for all OUR kids. This is a hollow victory, and one that doesn’t push the school forward. We will continue to fair badly in our school report card, just as advertised. The school will rely on the bullying policies of old that have proven to be ineffective. Crivitz students that do extra curricular activities will still be subject to “random” drug testing. The school will continue on being run by a couple people with their own agendas.

On a side note, I am happy that my children have graduated, and don’t have to deal with the constant stream of issues created by “city hall”. There are still a lot of people that would like to see a change in the district, so I suspect that the next time we all head to the polls we’ll see a better challenger than myself, more polished, more popular. Readers, stand up for what you believe in. I did, and I wouldn’t change it for anything. Little Willie

About a week out from the election, I am at peace. I spent time with folks, and enjoyed their company more than I can say. I even had a blast with a couple that readers would never believe could have happened. Crivitz voters keep saying I will win the election, but it looks like it might be a light election. A light election is not helpful to an aspiring candidate. Again, I promise to work for all of you. We have a town of about a thousand, but the readers are up to over 5000, so hopefully some of them will be out to vote.

My children have graduated  but the problems still exist, I promise to bring this small town school back to a place we can all be proud of. I want to  work for OUR kids and grand kids.  My door will always be open for you, and my heart too! My friends, go and vote next Tuesday, and hold me to the promises. You will be glad you did! Stay tuned!

Treat Them Like Mushrooms: Keep Them in the Darkness and Feed them Sh*t!

Wisconsin lawmakers recently introduced a bill whereby many government entities, including school districts do not have to have to report their minutes to newspapers etc. I wonder if Lyle Cherry has a friend in state government, because it appears he would love this “fox guarding the henhouse” approach. At a somewhat recent school board hearing, Lyle asked Pete Pfankuch if he was at the meeting to “get something into the newspaper”. Why yes, Lyle, instead of hiding in back rooms, and treating the good people of Crivitz like mushrooms, we would like some transparency, while you evidently do not.

As residents of any district, aren’t the citizens entitled to know what’s going on and keep informed? Evidently not in Crivitz, per our school board’s past behavior. Folks, realize that 60 to 65 percent of your property taxes go to the school district! That’s about 2/3 of your money sent to a school that keeps us in the dark. I have made it my mission to change this culture, and make sure that people like Lyle can be voted out, and read about the good things happening in Crivitz School in his local newspaper. A quote by Noam Chomsky really says it well: “The general population doesn’t know what’s happening, and it doesn’t even know that it doesn’t know.”  How true! “Give light, and the darkness will disappear of itself”-Desiderius Erasmus. Folks, lets give all the light we have on April 4th, and maybe we can get rid of the darkness! Stay tuned!

Kenny Likes My Blog: Redux

Went to see the Crivitz girl’s basketball game last night versus Peshtigo. The JV ladies won a close game, and played well. Congrats to them. Varsity had a little tougher time. As I was walking out I had to pass Kenny, as he was shaking hands and kissing babies. Then he began to stare at me per usual. He continued to stare, make faces, and made an odd hand gesture. Readers, I had a lapse of judgment for a brief moment, and made a comment to Kenny, as I’ve had it with his tactics. He asked me what I said, and in my typical fashion, I repeated it. He ran up and got right in my face. I said “I wouldn’t do it old man!” He walked away. That was a very smart move for a 70 something person acting like a toddler. Don’t worry Kenny, those terrible twos will be over soon enough!

The Dramas appear to be nervous that they will lose the election. I realize these bullying tactics are aimed at taking me out of the race. Readers, I’ve heard so much about bullying, and shared it, that I can no longer tolerate it in any form. For those of you who want change at the Crivitz School, please trust that I will not fall prey to this tactic again. I will say this as a caveat, we must stand up to bullies. By doing exactly that, we can make the necessary changes, and move forward in a positive direction. Kenny, and people who fall for all those political maneuvers, please continue to enjoy my blog! Bullying Nightmare

A friend originally from Crivitz, and now from Kentucky just alerted me to a very real post by Laken Ducaine. She is a high school senior at Crivitz School. Her dad is my golf partner, and good friend. He had recently made me aware of the extreme bullying that his daughter has experienced at the Crivitz High School. After the bullying she had anxiety disorder, as well as, bulimia, anorexia, and depression. As I’m told the school was aware, and downplayed it. Cowards! Sweep it under the rug. Keep the public in the dark. Her kidneys stopped working. She developed kidney stones. She urinated blood and only blood. Her heart could not work properly. She threw up her food. Her heart raced. She experienced blindness,  and temporary deafness, and could not remember anything she said, read, or what others told her. .She could not sleep laying down because of her extreme pain.

There are many comments to this intensely personal, scary post. Many of them expressed their own experience with bullying in the Crivitz School District. This culture must stop immediately. Change must happen. Here is someone who could have easily lost her life it appears. Once again, I’m sickened by what is transpiring at our once-great school. Readers, please check out her post, for the gory details. Please help me, help these poor victims. Please take this serious before we lose one of our precious young people.

No Facts Necessary

“The record is absent of facts of any wrongdoing by Brianna Kopp.” This is a direct quote from the last brief filed by the girls’ attorney. NO FACTS!! Apparently the school and Mike Drama don’t rely on facts when punishing kids. The brief goes on to say, “Sophia Dama testified she did not observe Brianna Kopp take any photographs. Ms. Dama actually asserts that she knows nothing Ms. Kopp did which was violative of any rules.”NO PHOTOGRAPHS! Again the brief states, “The only party making claims against any of the Plaintiffs in the initial complaint was Sophia Dama. She was the only complainant in the locker room at the time. Yet she has no facts to substantiate that Brianna Kopp did anything wrong.” NOTHING WRONG! This is why her dad is so angry. You take a great kid, who did nothing wrong, and try to ruin her life. What Pat Mans and Mike Drama have done to an innocent child is unforgivable, and that is why I continue to rail at this. No justice has ever been done to this point.

No one, including the writer of this blog, requested the attorney to make the above points in his brief. He concluded these findings on his own. The above does illustrate what is happening in our great little town of Crivitz. The girls old attorney, Rick, rest his soul, likened Drama to the Boss Hogg of Crivitz. I guess that makes Pat, Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane. Could be an apt assessment when you look at what a mess the school is. So Boss and Roscoe, the General Lee is ready for the chase. Look out in April, that patrol car might just spin out again! Once again, no facts necessary. Stay tuned!

Heartsick

Before noon today, I have been alerted to 2 more cases of bullying at the Crivitz High School. I am having a physical reaction to this, as I know one of these kids personally. The person has lost between 15-20 pounds from anxiety. The school is aware of both cases. They evidently offered a closed door board session to the family of one of the kids. This offer was not taken. Why?? The school has not proven that they will do anything about it. When has any of the readers of this blog ever heard about Administrator Mans or the school board doing anything to help students or others? Avid readers know what they’ve done to punish them like criminals. Bullying in Crivitz appears rampant, and must stop now!

The above represents the “culture” at the Crivitz School. In keeping with this culture, recently the grade school Principal, Jeff Walsh was charged with drunk driving. Channel 5 News in Green Bay reported the story earlier this week. According to the story “The Crivitz superintendent tells Local 5 they are aware of the incident and for the time being, they do not plan to take any action against him.” Really?? Here’s a strong lesson to the kids that Walsh is supposed to be overseeing. Culture!! Readers, this has to change, don’t you think? I am not yet a member of the school board. I am running to make these changes. I love these families and kids, and I am heartsick at what I’m witnessing. Stay tuned!

 

A Change Gonna Come

Sam Cooke said it right. It has been a long time coming! We have change in the White House. I don’t know if Trump was the perfect guy to trust with the nuclear code, but he wasn’t afraid to call it like he sees it. He, like myself, is not a polished professional politician. Sometimes you need common sense, and a backbone to lead. Also, like The Donald, I am an imperfect person, and am willing to admit to such. As I embark on a mission to change the culture at the Crivitz School, I long for the days of a school run like a German train station by Gordon P. Rieden. The man opened the doors in the morning, and turned off the lights at night. From this writer’s perspective, that’s the kind of man that I would love to see run the school again, and Make Crivitz Great Again!

What I, and most folks around the area that I talk to, want is a fair shake for everyone in our wonderful town of Crivitz. I feel blessed to live here, and have graduated high school here. I will not be a hypocrite, and say that there is nothing personal or any hard feelings, but make no mistake, I will say that making OUR school a better place for our kids, the staff, the tax payers, and everyone associated with the Crivitz School District, is by far and away my number one priority! This is a promise.
